Members’ Picnic

About twenty members gathered at The Dairy House for our ‘Bring your own’ picnic on Thursday 22nd July. It was delightful sitting in the shade next to the river Wey. We thank Bob and Immy Turner for allowing us to enjoy their beautiful garden.

Future Plans

Following our committee meeting on the 22nd June, it was decided to go ahead with our plans hoping that restrictions will be eased on 19th July.

The first event will be a visit to a member’s garden at the end of July, in the form of a ‘bring your own’ picnic lunch. Members will be invited when final arrangements have been made.

The Summer Show will be on 21st August. Schedules will be published on the web-site shortly and also available from the show secretary. E-mail shows@budhs.org.uk or ring 01305 813942.

An A.G.M. will be held in the autumn when we will definitely need some more committee members. Please give this some thought.

Our gardens are beginning to show colour now.

May Up-date

We are very sad to hear that former member, Eve Taylor has passed away. Eve was a long serving committee member and worked tirelessly for our Society. She propagated and grew on plants to sell at meetings and plant sales for many years, raising funds. She was also an excellent flower arranger, suggesting class titles for our shows. We will always remember her with affection.

Cerne Abbas Open Gardens have contacted us to say that they have moved their event from June to August 14th and 15th. Details can be found on their website www.cerneopengardens.org.uk
